The high-resolution Fourier transform spectra of the CHD molecule have been
recorded and assigned between 1850 and 2450 cm(-1). To verify the assignme
nts and to span a more complete energy manifold in the excited vibrational
states, the hot bands 2 nu(3) - nu(3), nu(3) + nu(6) - nu(3), nu(3) + nu(6)
- nu(6), and 2 nu(6) - nu(6) near 1000 cm(-1) were used. The assignment pr
esented in this study is based on the recent ground state rotational energi
es determined by Ulenikov et al. (J. Mol. Spectrosc. 186 (1997) 230). As a
result the vibrational-rotational energies in the (nu(3) = 2,A(1)), (nu(3)
= nu(6) = 1,E), (nu(6) = 2,A(1)), (nu(6) = 2,E), (nu(4) = 1,E), (nu(2) = 1,
A(1)), and (nu(3) = nu(5) = 1,E) states have been refined and extended. (C)
