The solid-state structure of the (tetrahydroxy)oligosiloxane [((BuO)-Bu-t)(
3)SiOSi(OH)(2)](2)O, synthesized by the hydrolysis of ((BuO)-Bu-t)(3)SiOSiC
l3, reveals molecules composed of four vertex-linked SiO4 tetrahedra and co
ntaining four SiOH groups involved in both intermolecular and intramolecula
r hydrogen-bonding.
