Abstract
Lipoprotein modification occurs in uremic patients and in patients with end stage kidney disease under chronic renal replacement therapy. Forms of lip oprotein modification include lipid peroxidation, glycation, and carbamoyla tion, In this short review, we discuss the presence of these forms of lipop rotein modification and their association with various renal diseases. Meth ods to analyze lipoprotein modification are introduced, and functional cons equences related to vascular and renal function are presented, Copyright (C ) 2000 S. Karger AG, Basel.
