Shubnikov-de Haas (SdH) effect has been studied in single-crystal samples o
f p-CoSb3 in pulsed magnetic fields up to 35 T. From the temperature depend
ence of the amplitude of the SdH oscillations the values of cyclotron effec
tive mass were determined. It was found that the effective mass increases f
rom 0.07m(0) to 0.15m(0) with increasing of the hole concentration, taking
part in the SdH effect, from 0.46 to 4.06 x 10(18) cm(-3), indicating a non
parabolicity of the valence band of CoSb3. The fundamental band parameters,
the band-edge effective mass (m(n)*/m(0) = 0.049+/-0.006), energy gap (E-g
= 31+/-5 meV), spin-orbit splitting (Delta = 0.16+/-0.06 eV), and the inter
band momentum matrix element [P = (2.0+/-2) X 10(-8) eV cm] were estimated
using the three-band Kane model.
