Abstract
A theoretical description of the spin dependent structure function g(1)(x, Q(2)) in the region of low values of x and Q(2) is presented. It contains t he vector meson dominance contribution and the QCD improved parton model su itably extended to the low Q(2) domain. Theoretical predictions are compare d with the recent experimental data in the low x, low Q(2) region.
