Abstract
Lately there has been an increasing focus on risk based maintenance optimiz ation in the offshore industry prompted by new functional regulations on ri sk. In this paper we present alternative probabilistic frameworks for this optimization, using a Bayesian approach. Some key features of the framework s are discussed, including uncertainty treatment and type of performance me asures to be used. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
