Holes in the charge density of topological solitons

It has been observed numerically that multisoliton solutions in topological theories contain holes-regions where the topological charge density vanish es. In this paper I present a topological argument for the existence of suc h holes. The generic map that describes B solitons in d space dimensions wi ll exhibit B - 1 zeros of dimension d - 2. Some properties of the holes are discussed.
