Physical studies of cyclohexane derivatives

Mean molecular polarizabilities, polarizability anisotropies and order para meters of two homologous series of cyclohexane derivatives namely trans-4-a lkyl cyclohexyl 4'-cyano-phenyl ester and trans-4-alkyl cyclohexyl 4'-n-pen tyloxy phenyl ester are evaluated using molecular vibration approach. The v ariation of polarizability and polarizability anisotropy with a number of c arbon atoms in the alkyl chain is studied. In addition, the dependence of o rder parameter on temperature is reported and discussed.
