Abstract
The Aeromedical Consultation Service (ACS) is a U.S. Air Force tertiary ref erral service which evaluates aviators with complex medical problems and ma kes recommendations for their aeromedical disposition. This study reports t he Experience with dermatologic disease in aviators referred to the ACS ove r a 22-yr period from 1975-1997. A review of other military and civilian ex periences with dermatologic disease is also presented. The potential impact of skin disease on aviators and support personnel, in peacetime and wartim e can be surmised by this collective account of dermatologic experiences.
