C. Scarponi et al., THE IMPORTANCE OF THE TEMPERATURE AND LATERAL PRESSURE ON THE CFRP JOINTS STRENGTH UNDER UNIAXIAL LOADING, Journal of reinforced plastics and composites, 16(9), 1997, pp. 825-847
The purpose of the present paper is to provide the assessment and eval
uation results of the temperature and lateral pressure influence on th
e CFRP pin loaded joints strength while they are subjected to tension.
The subject study is composed of the following two main parts: 1. the
Experimental Results, which are obtained through the application of f
our (4) different lateral pressure conditions (none, low, medium, and
high), and range of temperatures (room, +60 degrees C, +80 degrees C,
-55 degrees C, -100 degrees C, and -150 degrees C) 2. the Theoretical
Results, which are obtained through the use of 2D finite element analy
sis In addition, the study provides an in depth description of the emp
loyed test methodology and a comparison of the numerical and experimen
tal final results.
