Abstract
1-Benzyl-4-aza-1-azoniabicyclo[2.2.2]octanedichromate is a useful reagent f or selective oxidation of benzylicalcohols and alpha-hydroxy ketones to the corresponding carbonyl compounds. The reaction was carried out under solve nt-free conditions without or in the presence of a catalytic amount of alum inum chloride.
