Abstract
Catalytic dehydrogenative polymerization of phenylsilanes with electron-wit hdrawing substituents using dimethylzirconocene as a catalyst afforded the corresponding polysilanes with rather high molecular weights. Significant s ubstituent effects were observed on the electronic spectra of the polymers.
