A 12Gsample/s optoelectronic analogue-to-digital converter (ADC) based on w
avelength division sampling and demultiplexing is presented. A wavelength-s
elective true-time-delay device generates a continuous-time 12Gsample/s pul
se train. The pulse train samples the analogue electrical signal in an elec
tro-optic modulator. The samples are demultiplexed using a passive optical
filter, and digitised using three 4Gsample/s electronic digitisers.
