Resource allocation strategy for ATM-based satellite systems

A new resource allocation strategy, termed the quasi-fixed slots (QFS) stra tegy, is proposed for multimedia capable ATM-based satellite systems, The Q FS strategy alternates the ownership of the fixed slots allocated to the hi gh-class connections between such connections and the best-effort connectio ns, resulting in an enhanced delay performance of the best-effort connectio ns.
