Abstract
An analysis of the recent medical literature on therapeutic biliary endosco
py shows continuing developments in technique, as well as an effort to obta
in objective data on the long-term outcomes with different clinical applica
tions. There are still too few studies analyzing costs, and these should be
encouraged in the immediate future.
