Synthesis, physical and analytical properties of 6-alkylacylamino-4-methyl-
2H-1,4-benzothiazin-3-one derivatives are described. These new compounds we
re prepared by acylation and/or alkylation of the amino group by phase tran
sfer catalysis. Acid hydrolysis of alkylacylamino-2H-1,4-benzothiazin-3-one
s afforded N-alkylamino-benzothiazin-3-ones. Some of them were evaluated in
vine for bacteriostatic activity.
