Abstract
Methyl ketones derived from monoterpene hydrocarbons limonene, a-pinene, an d (+)-3-carene are converted into a new terpendoles in Fischer's indole syn thesis. Regioselectivity of indole formation depend on the structural featu res of starting ketones but not on the reaction conditions.
