High spin states of Sr-84 were populated by bombarding Zn-70 target with 75
MeV O-18 beam provided by HI-13 Tandem Accelerator of CIAE, gamma-gamma coi
ncidences and DCO ratios were measured using eight anticompton Ge detectors
and one planar. A new level scheme of Sr-84 was established in which 12 ne
w energy states and nearly 30 new gamma-transitions were identified in pres
ent work. Level scheme was compared with its even-even isotopes Sr-78,Sr-80
,Sr-82,Sr-86. It shows that Sr-84 is a transitional nucleus, namely its gro
und state band exhibits a collective nature. The negative bands were extend
ed to spin of 19(-) and the gamma-transition energies take on the nature of
stagger. The negative band levels are in good agreement with D. C. M. theo
ry calculations.
