Abstract
The paper gives fracture toughness test results of 15X2MFA steel (10 heats) , 15X2MFAA steel (six heats) as well as their welds, produced by submerged are welding with Cb-10XMFT wire under AH-42 flux (seven welded test samples ) and with Cb-10XMFTY wire under AH-42M flux (five welded test samples), wi th electroslag wire of the type Cb-13X2MFT by using OF-6 flux (three welded test samples) and by manual are welding with H-6 and H-3 electrodes (one w elded test sample for each electrode type). All these materials are widely used in the manufacture and repair of the VVER-440 reactor pressure vessels , the main elements of which are made from 15X2MFAA (shells of the core zon e) and 15X2MFA steel (flange, shell of nozzle zone, bottom). The obtained i nformation is a reliable basis for the construction of reference fracture t oughness temperature dependences for these materials. (C) 2000 Published by Elsevier Science Ltd.
