Abstract
Isolated perforations of the small bowel resulting from blunt abdominal tra uma are rare and difficult to diagnose because of their variable presentati on, especially when their appearance is delayed. We report 2 such cases tha t were diagnosed by sonography and emphasize the usefulness of sonography i n detecting bowel injuries after blunt abdominal trauma. (C) 2000 John Wile y & Sons, Inc.
