Abstract
We show the analogue for the entropy of automorphisms of finite von Neumann algebras of the classical formula H(T) = H(V-i=0(infinity) T-i P \ V-i=1(i nfinity) T-i P), where T is a measure preserving transformation of a probab ility space, and P is a generator. (C) 2000 Academic Press.
