Abstract
This is a retrospective review of 27 patients with severe hindfoot valgus w ho were treated with a medial sliding osteotomy of the os calcis. The group consisted of 38 feet in 27 patients with myelomeningocele, ranging in age from 7 to 17 years. Follow-up averaged >5 years. The amount of hindfoot def ormity, problems with brace and shoe wear, and overall patient satisfaction were analyzed. Eighty-two percent of the patients were completely satisfie d. Most had complete correction of the hindfoot deformity. There was one su perficial pin site infection and no nonunions.
