Abstract
The new single-detector technique to measure absolute value of quantum effi ciency of photon counting devices without using any optical standards is pr oposed. It is based on the use of quantum correlation existing between enta ngled photons. The quantum efficiency for several EMI photomultiplier tubes has been evaluated in a single-detector configuration using spontaneous pa rametric down conversion source.
