A comprehensive model of the baroreflex-feedback mechanism regulating the h
eart rate, the contractility of the ventricle and the peripheral vascular r
esistance is presented. The dynamics of the affector and the effector parts
are modelled. For each of the effector organs the steady state behaviour i
s used explicitely. Scenarios of heart infarct, mechanical clamping of peri
pheral regions and increasing peripheral resistance by drugs are used for v
