Abstract
We present a grid-free numerical method to solve reaction-diffusion problem s in two-dimensional bounded domains, based on the combination of stochasti c and deterministic techniques. A gradient random walk models the diffusion , and the reaction term involves deterministic growth or decay of particles . The application to the simulation of the cardiac potential evolution in a model of cardiac tissue is shown. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All right s reserved.
