Abstract
The part of trade unions in developing countries has been neglected for a l ong time. But the recent development of industrial microdata in developing countries has permitted a new approach of this topic since the beginning of the 90's. One of the main results of this literature is the positive wage effect generated by trade union activity. This paper presents a survey of t his recent empirical literature and its main results by geographic areas.
