Abstract
A two-wavelength combination source can be used to enhance the measurement precision in a white light interferometric system. However, for efficient o peration, an optimum wavelength combination has to be chosen. In this paper , a detailed theoretical analysis showing the existence of an optimum wavel ength difference in a two-wavelength combination source is presented, where such a wavelength difference forms the basis to construct an optimum wavel ength combination. This theoretical analysis is useful in the process of fr inge analysis in white light interferometry. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
