SYNTHESIS AND REACTIVITY IN INORGANIC AND METAL-ORGANIC CHEMISTRY
The complexes of 2-alkoxycarbonylpropyltin trichlorides with hexamethylphos
phoramide (HMPA) and N-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-2-hydroxy-1-naphthylaldimine (H2L)
have been synthesized and characterized by means of elemental analyses, IR
and H-1 NMR spectra and an X-ray single crystal diffraction study. The spe
ctral data indicate that these complexes are all six-coordinate tin compoun
ds. The crystal structure of MeOCO-CH(CH3)CH2SnCl3. HMPA shows that the tin
atom adopts a distorted octahedral geometry via the oxygen atoms of HMPA a
nd intramolecular carbonyl group.
