Abstract
A new binuclear molybdenum-sulfur complex with homocitrate, K-5(NH4)[Mo2O2S 2(C7H6O7)(2)]. 4H(2)O, was synthesized and characterized by elemental analy ses, spectroscopy (infrared, UV-Visible, H-1 and C-13 NMR, XPS and EPR), an d TG-DTA. According to the proposed binuclear structure of the compound, ea ch octahedral molybdenum atom is coordinated to hydroxyl, alpha-carboxylate and beta-carboxylate groups of a homocitrate molecule, two bridging-sulfur atoms and a terminal oxygen atom.
