Abstract
Macrophyllidimers A and B, two novel sesquiterpene dimers in whose structur es the two sesquiterpene units are connected by a C-C bond directly, have b een isolated from the bark of Inula macrophylla. Their structures were dete rmined on the basis of spectral evidence. The structure of macrophyllidimer B was finally confirmed by X-ray analysis.
