Abstract
A pragmatic business process modelling methodology has been developed and d emonstrated within BT's Alliance Partners for the efficient design, storage and publication of business processes and procedures. The methodology is b ased on the use of a proprietary business modelling tool called System Arch itect/Business Process Re-engineering (SA/BPR) from Popkin Software & Syste ms Inc, but has also made extensive use of advanced HTML functionality for the publication of the model on company intranets. The objectives of the team were to improve the quality of process design, r educe the time taken to deliver designs, to improve communications between members of the process community and to develop a link with the systems and data areas. This paper describes the history and current status of the met hodology, the use of the methodology in BT's Swiss Joint Venture sunrise, a nd proposes how this might now be used more widely within BT and its Allian ce Partners.
