Abstract
Tethering of dienols to hydroquinones under Mitsunobu conditions followed b y oxidation with diacetoxyiodobenzene in methanol resulted in the developme nt of highly functionalized cis-decalins via intramolecular Diels-Alder rea ctions of in situ generated masked p-benzoquinones.
