Abstract
In this correspondence, we investigate on the problem of designing biorthog onal filter banks obtained by the cosine-modulation of an analysis and a sy nthesis prototype. The design procedure is developed in a general framework including both finite impulse response (FIR) and causal infinite impulse r esponse (IIR) prototypes. Numerical examples are presented to show the effe ctiveness of the method.
