Abstract
We describe a method to harden the nucleus of crystalline lenses in postmor tem human globes by intralenticular injection of a mixture of paraformaldeh yde and glutaraldehyde (Karnovsky's solution). Evaluation of the nuclear ma nipulations, using the Miyake-Apple posterior video/photographic technique, shows that the method provides suitable specimens for practicing extracaps ular cataract extraction and phacoemulsification.
