A model is developed, and an algorithm employing the Monte Carlo method for
calculating the three-dimensional distribution of irradiating laser light
consisting of several wavelengths is realized. The influence of the diverge
nce of the laser beam on the character of the distribution of the radiation
is taken into account. Distributions of combined laser radiation with wave
lengths of 1.06 and 2.09 mu m and the temperature field induced by it in li
ver tissue are calculated. The calculation results are compared with previo
usly obtained experimental data. (C) 2000 The Optical Society of America. [
