Abstract
The possible reasons for preservation of a residual image on photothermopla stic information carriers after the supply of an erasing pulse are investig ated. The dependences of the signal of the residual image and the signal of the intensified residual image (the "bad-memory" signal) on the contrast o f the recorded image and the recording signal are determined.
