Abstract
The transfer matrix method is introduced into the analysis of ultrasonic fl exural solid horns. The frequency and magnification equations of a horn are derived by using the transfer matrix method. Analyzed are the characterist ics of three types of circular cross-section horns: exponent, cone, and cat enary. The results are partly verified experimently. (C) 2000 Acoustical So ciety of America.
