The enological characteristics of different clones of Monastrell grapes hav
e been studied. The wines obtained from different clones were subjected to
chemical analyses, including the determination of organic acids, colour cha
racteristics and mineral elements. Significant differences were found among
clones. To check if these analytical parameters could correctly classify t
he wine samples, multivariate statistical analysis was done. Cluster and pr
incipal component analysis classified correctly samples belonging to the sa
