P. Mathur et al., Synthesis of new selenium- and oxygen-containing tungsten acetylide complexes [(eta(5)-C5Me5)W(O) (Se-2)(CCPh)] and [(eta(5)-C5Me5)W(Se5CCPh)], ORGANOMETAL, 19(5), 2000, pp. 941-943
Thermolysis of a mixture of [(eta(5)-C5Me5)W(CO)(3)(CCPh)] and [Fe-3(CO)(9)
(mu(3)-Se)(2)] in toluene solvent at 90 degrees C in air yields the unusual
diselenaoxoacetylide compound [(eta(5)-C5Me5)W(O)(Se-2)(CCPh)] (1). When t
he same reaction is carried out under nitrogen atmosphere, the pentaselenaa
cetylide compound [eta(5)-C5Me5)W(Se-2)(Se3CCPh)] (2) and the previously re
ported cluster [(eta(5)-C5Me5)(2)W2Fe3(CO)(6)(mu(3)-Se)(2)(mu(4)-CC(Ph)C(Ph
)C] (3) are formed. Structures of 1 and 2 have been established crystallogr
aphically.
