Abstract
Item Response Theory (IRT) methods were applied to data from the natio nal norming of the Test of Economic Literacy (TEL) to identify test qu estions with large male-female differences; economic ability was contr olled by removing related questions from the test. The subsequent regr ession analysis showed a significant decrease in the magnitude of the gender difference, although a difference was still present.
