Prostaglandin E-1 is commonly used in the management of cyanotic congenital
heart disease. While cutaneous flushing and peripheral edema are well reco
gnized side effects of prostaglandin E-1 therapy, other cutaneous effects h
ave not been described in the dermatologic literature. We report a neonate
with transposition of the great vessels who developed urticaria during trea
tment with prostaglandin E-1.
