Abstract
Guided modes in a two-dimensional metallic photonic crystal waveguide are s tudied. The guided modes in the photonic crystal waveguide are related to t hose in a conventional metallic waveguide. There exists a cutoff frequency and consequently a mode gap at low frequencies (starting from zero frequenc y) in the photonic crystal metallic waveguide. (C) 2000 Published by Elsevi er Science B.V.
