Abstract
A Boltzmann equation is given for the early stages of evolution of the gluo n system produced in a head-on heavy ion collision. The collision term is t aken from gluon-gluon scattering in the one-gluon approximation. [p(perpend icular to)] and [p(z)(2)] are evaluated as a function of time using initial conditions taken from the McLerran-Venugopalan model. (C) 2000 Elsevier Sc ience B.V. All rights reserved.
