By using the electrostatic screening Coulomb interaction, introducing scree
ning parameters, and taking account of the short-range interaction between
ions, the authors calculated the variation of the cohesive energies of all
kinds of ion and cell in K3C60 crystal with the change of screening paramet
ers. The results show that the electronic screening is the screening to the
potassium ion, especially to the one on the tetrahedral center sites. Alth
ough the screening parameters are very small, it is very important for the
stability of the crystal.
