Time dependence of the channel characteristics of low voltage power-lines and its effects on hardware implementation

Power-line communication is a widely spread field of research topics, In th is paper, the channel characteristics focused on their time dependence are discussed. Moreover, the Gaussian behaviour of the existing background nois e is derived from longtime measurements. Finally, a structure for a communi cation system is presented. Its suitability is proven by simulations which took real channel conditions into account and bit error rate measurements w hich are performed using a hardware implementation of the proposed system.
