Abstract
The channel characteristics of the medium voltage power-line network with r egard to high data rate applications are investigated,These include network topology and cable types together with measurement results for a selected channel. The results show several advantages over the low voltage network a nd prove a large potential. Simulations with a proposed transmission system using spread spectrum emphasize this potential.
