J. Hakl et al., DETERMINATION OF DISSOLVED RADON AND RADI UM CONTENT OF WATER SAMPLESBY TRACK ETCH METHOD, Magyar kemiai folyoirat, 103(5), 1997, pp. 224-226
We have developed a method to determine dissolved radon and radium con
tent in water samples using track etch type radon monitors. The device
is an immersed, small volume radon monitor with CR-39 track etch dete
ctor. The monitor is sealed from the water by a thin radon permeable r
ubber foil. The dissolved radon and/or the radium content of water sam
ples can be determined from two independent radon exposures by using t
he solutions of non steady state differential equation which describes
the temporal variation of the radon content of water and by using an
experimentally determined calibration coefficient.
