In this work a reliable method has been worked out for the enzymatic d
etermination of glucose. For the measurement of samples a reagent cons
isting of glucose oxidase (GOD), peroxidase (POD) and o-dianisidine (O
DN) was prepared. The change in colour intensity of the reactions mixt
ure was recorded spectrophotochemically at 420 nm. The accuracy of the
method was checked by comparison with the Boehringer Test. Applicatio
n of the method: 1. laboratory-scale and industrial-scale measurement
of glucoamylase and trans-glucosidase activity; 2. hydrolysis of biode
gradable films; 3. following the process of cornstarch saccharificatio
n; 4. genetic measurements.
