ENTEC, a new energy technology database

In 1998, Fachinformationszentrum Karlsruhe ana Fachinformationszentrum Tech nik entered into an agreement for combining the contents of their respectiv e major databases for joint production and operation of a novel energy tech nology database providing full coverage of all relevant aspects and subject fields. This new 'ENTEC' database is available to users since May 1999 at the sites of the two information centers. The article describes technical aspects of database production and access to the database and specifies the scope, co ntents, and structure of the 'ENTEC' database. Representative examples of c itations are given, as well as an example illustrating the performance of a specific search in the database and the results retrieved.
