SYNTHESIS AND ANTIVIRAL EVALUATION OF PYRIDINE FUSED HETEROCYCLIC ANDNUCLEOSIDIC DERIVATIVES

Several 5-amino and 5-glycosylaminopyrrolo[3,4-c]pyridin-1,3(2H)-dione derivatives and 7-amino and ycosylaminopyrido[3,4-d]pyridazin-1,3(2H, 3H)-dione derivatives, were synthesized starting from 2-amino and 2-gl ycosylaminopyridines, respectively. For the preparation of pyrrolopyri dine and pyridopyridazine derivatives we used ammonia and hydrazine mo nohydrate respectively. Those compounds were evaluated, but found inac tive, for their invitro antiviral activity. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
